AVG 9.0 Faster Scanning Features
Nov 03, 2009
Some of you lately asked me, Why AVG scans takes longer time then the second scanning. Why is Future Scan faster ? Below is some of the raw data some of you had emailed me.
1.First time Scan Files : Approximately 900,000 Files
Time accomplished : 4 Hours 23 minutes.
2. Next Scan or Future Scaning: Approximately 400,000 Files
Time accomplished : 1 Hours 03 minutes.
Questions:
a. What happen to the remaining files ? b. Why AVG did not scan the whole computer ? c. Is the files been deleted ?This happens due to new feature of AVG. Basically at the first time you initiate AVG scan, It will scan whole computer files and folders. Upon intitiating the next or future scan, AVG will only scan the files which has been modified regardless by system level or Users of the computers. Therefore, AVG believe is useless to scan the whole computer again and again which will be only be time consuming. This scan is based on your local Hard drive NTFS journal cache on the computer where by future scanning will be based on the file or folder modification on your computer.
AVG Scanning in the version 9.0 has been improved. Basically it saves user time quickly performe a scan and go on with their daily work using the computer
