Unable to Execute .EXE files

I would like to share about some tips on how to fix the issue if you are unable to open any “.exe” extension file. Normally caused by infection. So to overcome this issue, you can manually create a tools and run it.
Please note that you may not even able to open the “Run” command to key in “Regedit”. Please proceed as below :
Start -> Run -> type in command
in the command prompt, type in “Notepad”.
- Once the Notepad is able to open, type in the below:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClasses.exeshellopencommand]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassessecfileshellopencommand]
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.exeshellopencommand]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.exe]
@=”exefile”
“Content Type”=”application/x-msdownload”
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTsecfile]
Click on “Save as” and name it “exefix.reg”. Save it on desktop.
Now run the file and it should resolve the issue with opening any .exe extension file.
Good Luck in trying
cheers
P/S : This information is been shared by one of my friend Mr. Bash. Thanks again.
